When the world was young . . .

Note the 3-volume encyclopedia from the 1860's.   How many volumes does it take to contain the world of knowledge today?  The last set of encyclopedias I had growing up must have had close to 30 volumes and was purchased from a door-to-door salesman.  When was the last time you saw one of those?  Fuller Brush anyone?  Avon calling?
