Foot prints in the sand

Sand crab

This little guy blends in very well. Found lots and lots of them on the beaches in Hawaii.

Don't wig out . . .

Here are some of the early knitted wigs from my wig project. More to come later . . .

This one has a pirate's eye patch.

Sculpture by nature

It's amazing how things grow and take shape. Mother Nature is impressive.

Ivy, Rose, Daisy . .

and Fern. Here's Fern. (At least, I think it's a fern.)

Autograph tree

Never heard of such a thing. I was amazed at how old the tree was and how well it was thriving even though people kept autographing the leaves. I refrained. I took only photographs and left not traces.

What is it?

Here is another tree fruit that I have no idea what it is. It's very pretty, though. Nature has some amazing designs.

Offering

As we traveled around the islands, we would run across places were people would leave offerings. This was a rather pretty one.

Lichen

A whole tiny microsystem growing on a tree.

Caution

Saw lots of signs like this posted on the islands. Some of the resorts actually go out and cut down coconuts so they won't fall on unsuspecting golfers.

Cactus in Hawaii

This is something that I didn't expect to see in Hawaii - Cactus. They're all over the place on the dry side of the island. I guess it goes along with cows and cowboys out on the plain.

Language barrier . . .

I don't speak Hawaiian so I don't know if this is a pro-Obama bumper sticker or not. I'm kind of leaning towards yes, it is a pro-Obama sticker.

The blob

Again, I have no idea what kind of fruit or tree this came from. It just reminded me of the movie The Blob.

Octopod

I have no idea what kind of tree this is but the fruit are interestingly weird and change as they develop.

I'm back . . .

After a longer than anticipated hiatus, I'm back. The images I'll be posting over the next few days were taken in Hawaii but they're not part of the trip photo album.
