We've had so much rain lately that we forget what that bright shiny thing in the sky looks like.  It's so nice to see the sun and feel its warmth.

What's in the box?

Today while in the yard, I thought I'd check the bluebird box.  While I was on the phone earlier in the day and looking outside, there was some bird activity at the box.  When I opened it up, I found this one little acorn inside. Was it a squirrel, a bird or the wind that deposited the acorn there?

I forgot that I had planted some of this in one of my flower beds and today I strolled over to take a look at it.  It looks so soft and velvety.

I keep wanting to go out into the flower beds and take down all the all cone flowers but the sparrows and other small birds are still feeding on the seed heads so I'll have to wait.  Every time I go out to the flower beds small birds fly out from the garden.
