Malvern Fair - July 2008

Here are some more shots using the ISO3200 setting on my G9 camera and only available lighting.

Malvern Fair, July 2008

All of these photos were taken with my new Canon G9 using different settings.

This shot was taken using the night snapshop setting.
This photo was taken using the ISO3200 setting.  Way cool setting to use.  More photos to come on this setting!

While looking over my photos, I noticed my reflection in one of the merry-go-round mirrors.  I look rather ghostly.

The ISO3200 setting does produce grainy images but it is much better than having no adjustment capability or distorting everything by using a flash.

Will he ever grow up?

First it was the pogo stick (see posting of July 14), now this.  I'm glad he doesn't use this bike when we're out on the bike trail.  He'd never be able to keep up with me.  What a change that would be!

Curly cues

I liked the design and texture of this hosta leaf that is shriveling up

More from around the yard . . .

Not sure how big this cuke will grow.  It has filled out since I took this shot but has not gotten and longer.

Here are some Japanese beetles that somehow ended up in the citronella candle.  On the hot days, the wax must get soft enough for them to get trapped and then overnight it hardens back up.
Little spider on the aluminum siding.
Tomatoes are coming along nicely.
Another spider in the garden.

This week around the yard . . .

The bees are still busy collecting pollen.

The wrens have decided to use the blue bird box as a storage unit, again this year.
I'll have to look this one up.  I could guess but I don't want to be wrong.

This is the adult version of a bug I posted before.  I don't remember it's name but it does like to eat Japanese beetles so it's nice to seem them around the yard.  Eat up, friend.

Piper at the vet

Piper contracted kennel cough when we boarded her over the 4th of July holiday weekend.  Here she is at the vet's office waiting for the doctor to come in and exam her.  Does she look nervous to you?

Hershey Park - Night Time Shots

This is one of those carts that sells glow toys.

In the summer, Hershey Park has fireworks on Saturday nights.

Hershey Park - July 2008 -Da Bears

Which is bigger the kid or the bear?

Who won all these prizes?  Hope there isn't a kid buried under there somewhere!

Images from Hershey Park - July 2008

The carousel is one ride that fits all types and sizes.

Some times it's a long wait until it's your turn for a ride.

This is one ride that is definitely not for me.

Saw several boys with mohawk hair cuts.  This seems to be a style that is has never gone out of style for young boys particularly during the summer.
